I have been using this widget for several months on one of my sites, and was in the middle of installing it on a second (uploaded and activated it, just never actually put the widget in the sidebar). In the past it has worked reasonably well for me. However, it appears the recent upgrade to 1.0 (which I believe addresses the search result URL issue) is causing some problems.

All my page links, category links, and tag links are redirecting to the most recent post. This is regardless of whether the widget has actually been placed in the sidebar, or not. As long as it has been activated I have this problem.

I have deactivated it in one site, and uploaded an older version to the other (because the widget is a vital part of that site’s navigation). Both are working fine, now.

Now that I have a chance to sit back and take a breather I wanted to post an update.

Whatever was causing my problem seemed to be specific to the version that WordPress had been making available for “auto update” at the time. Either that, WP corrupted the file during its upgrade. The currently available version works perfectly. Major props to its designer for the addition of bookmarkable results and CSS to modify box width. Visitors to the sites I use this widget on seem to be quite happy with these changes.

    Thanks!

Still broken with WordPress 2.8, I get again all my posts.
    Any hint?

    Thank you!

I’m having the same problem. The results are displayed but click on a post title returns a ‘not found’.

I use multiple categories for each post. I therefore use ‘sCategory Permalink’ plugin so that I can nominate which category is the ‘primary’ category, but this ‘Multiple Category Selection Widget’ returns a search result with the category number, not the category name, eg:
    http://travelhorizonstyle.com.au/categories/126/search_type/and/
    instead of:
    http://travelhorizonstyle.com.au/category/country/china/
so every single link on the /country/china/ page is broken…
unless I disable both ‘sCategory Permalink’ and ‘wp-smart-sort’.

Hoping someone can help, as all three plugins are great, but they just don’t work together.
    Joan
