Multiple blog page, category-wise

    Hello,
    In my simple wordpress installation, I want to separate blog content in 2 or more pages.
    Main (splash) page should show blog posts which DO NOT match one category (this category contains private or restricted stuff).
    Another page (with restricted access) will show all posts (or selected category posts).
    (Maybe one more page for other categories to be used as a simple forum for users)

    I don’t need nor want to create 2 blogs. I just need one blog in which to put all my content, organize it by categories, and choose which category to show, expecially in main page.

    I found very complex solutions or patches to something I bet is much simpler to achieve. Can someone help me?
