multiple authors in a web magazine... (5 posts)

    Hi!

We are running a web magazine since a couple of months. There would be around 16 to 20 articles in each month's edition and around the same number of authors. Is there an easy way of obtaining all posts by an author without creating usernames and passwords to each of them. As time goes on, there would be hundreds of authors on our site and I am wondering if there is any other better way of doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You might use a Category for each user or a custom field.

This is an old thread that covers the same ground:

Basically, Michael's suggestion of using custom fields might be the best alternative. I've even done some work on providing a search for custom field data (which could be adapted to listing posts by *author*):

Thank you for the suggestion of using custom-fields for authors. I am a newbie with php, I added 'the_meta' tag to the loop. I could get to display the author name by adding it as custom field but I want to be able to click on the author name so as to get all posts by that author. Please let me know how to link the authors name to go the page where all his/her posts will be displayed. I am sorry, may be this is a very basic question but I don't know how to do it. Thank you.
