WP 3.2.1 multi-site admin is working fine.

I've created a wildcard subdomain as required.

I've also created a subsite as part of the multi-site network, and set it's subdomain to be photo.example.com

However, this URL loads a blank page. If I try http://www.photo.example.com, I get my ISP error page, so without the www. prefix must be working DNS-wise, otherwise I'd receive an ISP error page for that too.

In /wp-admin/network/site-info.php?id=3, Path is set to /

    Is this correct?

URL is set to photo.example.com. Attributes is set to Public.

Can you check your server's error logs? A blank white screen usually indicates a fatal PHP error (possibly related to a plugin or theme you're using on that site).

There was nothing in the error log, only errors for an unrelated subdomain (without WP installed on it).

Previously, I tried adding the wildcard DNS A record, with the IP address being the same as that of the main domain. This didn't work, so I created a * subdomain, and pointed it to /public_html, which is where the parent blog lives, and this gave me the blank page.

I have since removed the * subdomain, leaving the A record in DNS, and I now receive a "Default Web Site Page", with the URL having been redirected to: http://photo.example.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

  4. Talk to your webhost and ask them if they support wildcard subdomains.

They do, and they have confirmed it is working.

    I found the problem.,

I had deleted the default theme TwentyTen from the parent blog months ago (before enabling Network), and when I went into the Dashboard of the sub-site, and then Appearance, it threw an error:

Notice: Undefined index: Twenty Ten in /home/superlog/public_html/wp-admin/includes/theme.php on line 24
Notice: Undefined index: Twenty Ten in /home/superlog/public_html/wp-admin/includes/theme.php on line 25
    ...
Notice: Undefined index: Twenty Ten in /home/superlog/public_html/wp-admin/includes/theme.php on line 36

I uploaded TwentyTen and the error disappeared, and then I activated the current parent theme, and the front-end of the sub-site now works.
