Hi,
I’m working for a client for whom we are developing a custom theme in English. Now they want to roll out 5 different language/country sites in an efficient way.
I’m wondering if it makes sense to use the same WordPress install/DB to try to manage these (all have small but important differences in content and forms, etc.) Even if we used a plug-in to replicate the sites in the same install, we’ll need to review all 100+ pages of translation and edit, etc.
Seems it may just be easier to reinstall the Worpress site 5 different times and manage each separately… am I missing something obvious?
Thanks
I’m by no means an expert on this but personally I’d give the plugins a try – customising 5 separate versions of wordpress and keeping them updated sounds like a ball-ache to me – certainly not efficient anyway.
Might be worth taking a look at this >> http://www.narga.net/build-full-multilanguage-website-with-wordpress/ I think I’m going to try both WPML and Xlanguage and see how I get on. Can always roll back if they’re not bahaving…
