mp3 and mp4 upload but don't play

I’m having issues where when I upload an mp3 or mp4 video in the media library, the file uploads – but the content does not play.

If I use the “add from server” plugin, the media uploads and plays fine in the media library preview and when it’s embedded in a post.

Is there a solution around this as the new built in embed functionality solves a lot of my problems, but not when the audio or video don’t end up playing.
