Support » Fixing WordPress » Moving WP to subdirectory, need help with rewrite rule

I am moving my WP install from my root directory to a /blog subdirectory. I am also setting up a blog.domain.com subdomaint o point to /blog.

What should a mod_rewrite rule look like that does the following two things:

    1) Silently redirects URLs like (www.)domain.com/0000/00/00/article-title to either (www.)domain.com/blog/0000/00/00/article-title or blog.domain.com/0000/00/00/article-title.

    2) Ignores this rule when being accessed via the subdomain blog.domain.com (otherwise it will redirect to the non-existant blog.domain.com/blog).

Category links and other links aren’t a big concern, just direct links to blog entries.

I’m a little new to mod_rewrite. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • hi, did you solve (1)? I have the same problem

You can NOT have the same problem because you are supposed to use a completely different version with a different rewrite rules set.
