Moving wordpress from one domain to another

Hi there,

I’ve managed to move wordpress before but I’m really having problems this time. I’ve tried following the WP instructions under ‘moving WP’ but I must be making a mistake somewhere.

I’m getting the ‘error establishing a database connection’ message and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong??

I’ve changed the URL in the old site settings, i’ve downloaded the old database and uploaded it to the new hosting. I’ve then transferred over the old files and it’s giving me the database connection error.

I’m really not hugely technical so am struggling to sort it out now so I’ve deleted the WP files on the new domain now and ready to start again.

Some guidance would be hugely appreciated!
