I am moving a WordPress web site within my site from domain.org to domain.com.

I have read the documentation for moving WordPress within your server but I had a question.

Is there a way to avoid the following issue when making the conversion:

If you have problems with missing images that you've uploaded, you need to change the path to the images on every post directly on your SQL database.

I am concerned about the amount of images and files that have uploaded and inserted into posts using the Media Library.

    thank you, Robert

Just dump the database, search/replace the url, drop the tables and then import your changed sql file back into the db. See any of the following videos about moving WP...they all demonstrate the process of changing the url in the db.

Thank you figaro. You make it sound so easy. I'll take a look at the videos. Is this something that I will unavoidably have to do? The wording of the statement "If you have problems with missing images" suggests to me that there may be a chance that there will be no missing images.

There is a chance there will not be missing images...just depends on the path to the image you have in the db.
