Basically I am moving all my websites to a new server.

I have done this by creating a full cPanel backup and then having my new host restore that. My domains which don’t use databases are working fine after changing the nameservers over.

However I have 2 WordPress websites, one which I’m going to get working before I change the nameservers of the second one.

Because it was a full cPanel backup, all the files relating to the WordPress installation as well as the database are there. However on the domain it says “Error establishing a database connection”.

I’ve read somewhat through the guide to moving WordPress, however I’m not actually sure what I have to change in the wp-config file. The domain name is the same, the database is the same.

What do I need to do in order for it to connect to the database?

    Thanks

You probably need to change the DB_HOST. Contact your hosting provider to confirm the correct value.

Thanks, I had to change the database name because the new server used a different username so the “username_database” username was wrong.

    All fixed now.
