   Hi All:
   I am pretty new at this... and appreciate your help.
   I am building a blog for my son's cub scout pack. pack15orlando.org
   I built the site on a free host and now am moving it to the perm. host.
   I was able to save a back up of the database and then import it into the new site.
   I copied all the files and moved them to the new host.
   I edited the wp-config.php file so that the start page shows fine.
   But ... when I try to go to other pages the pages are not found.
   I tried to install the Search and Replace plugin but an Error message says that it can not create a directory and the install fails.
   I created the directory but still no luck.
   I looked at the permissions and it says that the directories have read/write/execute access for the user and read/write for the group.

   So this is where I am stuck.

   reset your permalinks
   dashboard - Settings - Permalinks

   Here are my permalinks...
   I don't know how/where to reset them.

   I also saved the back up xml file for posts, etc.
   When I try to install this I also get the message that it can not write the directory.
   The directory it is trying to write is the old host path.

   I could change the xml to change the old host rah0218.freecp.net/blog to pack15orlando.org but I would still need to install the file and it gets the error. (As a test inside the xml file, I exchanged the old host path for a page with the new host path and it does display the page)

   I can do a fresh install and rebuild the site but was hoping not to have to do this. It seems that I am close but can not get the paths changed.

   Ok... I deleted everything and am starting from scratch.
   In the permalinks it still shows my site URL incorrectly.
   It should be pack15orlando.org but the default shows
   pack15orlando.org.com .. not sure where the .com is coming from.
   I try to enter the custom as http://www.pack15orlando.org and press ok but it then rewrites the custom link ast /http:/www.pack15orlando.org and I have to enter the info into the .htaccess file myself.
   I had to create a .htaccess file as there wasn.t one on the server.
   Still no luck doing these steps.

   Any suggestions from anyone?
   If I type in pack15orlando.org I get the site correctly but if I click on anything like view site it errors as page not found and lists the url as pack15orlando.org.com
   Confused...
