• Is there an easy way to move my whole blog to the root server.

    Currently it is residing at
    http://www.stevenaitchison.co.uk/blog

I want it moved to http://www.stevenaitchison.co.uk

is there an easy way to do this and is it worth the hassle? I just feel I would get better google search results, and more links if I moved it, is this the case? what are the benefits of moving the blog to the root, if any?

would there be implications for the likes of technorati?

  • You are asking an SEO question in a technical forum about a blog software. Do not expect a good answer if any.

Deep linking occurs at 2 or 3 levels down, and is quoted by many as a major cause of issues and by many as of no concern. Only the search engines of the day – which change – know for sure. If you do a search on a topic, do you see any option to only return results with short or shallow URL’s? 🙂

What drives your search engine ‘visibility’ is content. Content that is original, well presented and formatted, read and linked to by others.
