Moving from Server2Go to Live Server (5 posts)

    Hey,
I tried earlier, to move my website from Server2Go (localhost) to my live server and I obviously did something wrong because I was unable to access my cpanel anymore and nothing was working, until I contacted support.

I think I did something wrong during the Search and Replace step, and I was looking on the internet at other tutorials, many that don't seem to include this step. Rather they change WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) in General Settings to their new domain, then export the database and completely skip the search and replace step that wordpress mentions.

Is changing the URL in the settings enough? Or do I still need to run the search and replace script?

I'm worried I'm going to do something wrong and have to contact support again..

    Thanks.

Searching and replacing in a database dump will break some data. Use queries in phpmyadmin, as in the second link above.

By search and replace, I did use the search and replace query provided in the wordpress codex.
My Wp-config is configured correctly because when I go to my website it shows me the 5 minute wordpress install page.
Then, when I import my database I exported from my local server, I can't get on.
If I go to my domain.com/wp-admin it says "Error establishing a database connection" and the url it's trying to go to is domain.com/domain/wp-admin.php

Any ideas? As far as I know I followed the steps correctly, am I missing something in the search and replace step?

UPDATE: I did the search and replace again and I got my site working, all but the logo, for some reason?

In my header code I have

    <a href="http://www.larkz.net"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/Images/larkz.net_logo1.png" width="440" height="90" alt="Larkz.NET Logo"></a>

and my logo is in the right spot uploaded and everything, all I get is the alternate text. All my other images work correctly, any ideas?
