You may want to ask that here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/
Of note, unless you have a backup of your site’s database, you’re not going to be able to save your old posts (unless you can google/wayback for the posts).
Support on the .com for the holidays so I also posted on the forums there, where the automated reply suggested I come to the forums here. There was no real content on the blog, which was why I was not worried about saving it. I had no idea, though, that I couldn’t re-use any of that account information at some other point, since it wasn’t being used anywhere else.
Thanks!
You need to post here http://en.forums.wordpress.com/
Go ask in the wp.com forums, please. No one here really can help with setup on wp.com. My best guess would be to try and reset the password associated with the email you can’t register and log in. You may have signed up there ages ago.
(though I see that the supportbot is … stupid and entirely unhelpful. Stupid bots…
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscomorg-1
Basically what the bot says is ‘if you’re talking about self-hosted wp, go to wp.org’ You are NOT talking about that, you’re talking about ‘I can’t register at wp.com with my email address.’ Just forget about your wordpress.org stuff for the moment.)
I have already posted over there as well. 🙂 What I have now is two identities; one for .com and one for .org; the .org has no blog attached to it because it has no outside hosting- I want to use my .org info for the .com. Looks like I will have to wait for someone over there to reply or contact support once they come back. Thanks. 🙂
Looking at the .com post… You have the same login ID there. tikki12 is the ID you used to post. I’m assuming your current problem is the email address you used for tikki12 here is different from there.
Go here: http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Enter the EMAIL you want to use.
It should email you the user ID and password associated with that email address.
You can then change it as you want, and sync ’em all up.
Remember these are separate sites. Yes they both are WordPress, but they’re not related as much as people think they are. Forget .org. There’s sod all we can do for you except some speculation. 🙂
I have the two ids, but am logged in with the .org admin info. I transferred the new blog to this info, but I don’t see a place to remove the info for the .org blog that no longer exists. Will keep digging.
Thanks again!
