This is not a WordPress issue. But I trust the advice I receive here.

I host my site with a wonderful company, called “A Small Orange.” But before that, I hosted with a not-so-wonderful company. When I migrated my site, I declined to move to a new registrar for two reasons. First, the process frightened me, and I didn’t want to be down for any length of time. Second, I didn’t think this company could scre up something as simple of domain name registration. But they have.

They let my domain name expire without one single bill being send to the email address on record. They claim they went several, but none are in my spam folder. After bitching them out about it twice NOW I’m getting their bills. Funny how my complaining to them makes Yahoo’s spam filter less trigger happy.

Trouble is, their site won’t accept my credit cards. These are cards that work and aren’t overdrawn. And of course, these guys deny all responsibility.

Honestly, I have NEVER encountered a company that wanted my money less than these guys. I won’t name them in a public forum that is not my own, but they will be quite prominent on my blog as soon as it’s back up and running.

So screw em. I’ve packing up and taking my business elsewhere. Any advice on how to quickly migrate a domain registration from one company to another.

Since you are so happy with your hosting company (which I can understand, they are getting very good “press” around here) – why don’t you ask them?

They seem to have domain registrar services, too, even if through a third party…
