   Greetings!

   Need advice, please...

   I'd like to transition a current HTML site over to WordPress, but I don't want to take the HTML site offline because we'll lose business.

   Is it possible to install WordPress in the home directory with the HTML pages? Will the HTML pages over-ride the WordPress pages when a visitor comes to our site?

   Or, should I just install WordPress & the template in a sub-directory, move the content over, then RE-INSTALL WordPress in the home directory when I'm ready to go live?

   I can't decide which would be a smarter way... any thoughts?

   You can install wordpress in a directory get it all set up working as you want it and move out your html website from root and move wordpress in root.

   I have a question...
   If I understood correctly at the beginning I would have something like:

   http://www.domain.com/wordpress

   and then I would move the wordpress folder to:

   http://www.domain.com

   My situation is the following:

   I currently have my page in html, say like this: http://www.domain.com/page1.html

   When moving to wordpress, I may have something like: http://www.domain.com/page-1

   What do I need to do in order to redirect (301) the page1.html to page-1?

   Is it possible to do this??

   I'd really appreciate any help!
