I am very new to blogs, which is probably the most important thing for me to say first! I temporarily started one back in March under one account with my host server. I now want to change it over to the new account but can't move the existing posts with it. Under "General Options," when I change the original blog address from (http://www.siteplanning.com/appiesnet/wordpress/ to the to the new one: http://www.perspectivesinternational.org/appiesnet/wordpress/, the original posts don't come with it. Can anyone help me with this problem?

You would need to move the database (this is where the posts are stored) to the new host. Go to Manage > Backup and backup the database (make sure the plugin is activated) and then install it on the new host. Not sure exactly how to go about doing it but it's a start.

Ryan, thank you for your help. I'm having a problem finding the database. I went to Manage but don't see a "backup option." I'll keep looking...I'm sure it's something I'm just overlooking.

Again, thank you for trying to help.

Best way to get the db dump is use the phpmyadmin function through your host cpanel.

Along with the suggestions above, to backup your database you have to first activate the database plugin in your plugins panel. Then go to manage > backup.

MANY THANKS to everyone who has posted a suggestion. I'm buried in another project but as soon as I'm FREE, I'm going to tackle this one!
