   I've been working quite successfully with a test installation of WP in my http://www.site.com/wordpress directory. I would now like to move the web address to the root and if possible keep the installation in the /wordpress/ directory. Is this possible? I'm worried that by moving everything to the root any links that I've created will no longer be valid. I've done a little bit of searching and have found plenty of tutorials on how to move the installation out of the root but nothing that works the other way around.

   I'm guessing it's got something to do with the URI and URL settings in the dashboard, but don't want to get things wrong as I guess once I've changed things I'll need to use MySQL to get it back if I go wrong?

   Can anyone help?
