No, I am getting this error in OS X (Mac)
Your folder can’t be deleted because something is actively using it. A plugin wouldn’t cause that problem – I’m 99% sure it’s an issue with your operating system. If you disable the preview settings for folders in your operating system, you may solve your problem.
Try Googling something like, “Can’t delete a folder on Mac”

No, this is inside the actual WP dashboard when I try to change the parent category of a child category, this isn’t something I am doing in the OS
Okay, in order to figure it out, you have give all the details.
You’re on a local installation, so navigate to your folder on your hard drive, delete or move it manually, and then resync.

Sorry, I thought I had given the details, you just assumed I was deleting because it’s a local install :-O
Anyway I have moved the folder manually and run the sync which has updated however it still shows the old folder as existing as a category but when looking in the local folder it doesn’t show the old folder, is Filebase not syncing correctly?
Deleting or moving amounts to the same thing, with your operating system.
I would consider fixing the appending thing – your folder has (7) on the end, which may be causing issues. I’m not a programmer, obviously, but I’d suggest correcting that. I don’t think it’s a good thing to have on there, and it shouldn’t be necessary.
Try removing the folder manually under Categories in WP Filebase. That should solve your problem!

Okay, I will try that, the (7) appears to have been added by Filebase itself, the folder in the local drives doesn’t have that on there!
Thanks

That appears to have solved everything thanks April
