moving blog to new domain/server

Hello.

I currently have two domain names hosted by the same company. One of them is my blog, and the other is my portfolio website. I want to transfer my blog to the portfolio site. I am not entirelys ure how to do this. I have downloaded the files from the server of my blogs site and put them in to the folder of my portfolio site. When I tested it however it took me to a page that said “photodp.net blog has moved to a new website” and the link took me to the main page of my portfolio site?

Now, is this simply because I was only testing it on my computer and it wasnt up on the server yet? Or is there some other issue? Am I going about this the correct way?
