• Hi,
I have a blog hosted on namexyz.wordpress.com and would like to move the whole blog to a new domain namexyz.com.
Is there any instruction how to do that? What happens to all the links and the feed? Will this be lost or is it possible to add a redirection somehow?
Right now I have a pagerank of 5, I think I will lose this value, right? 🙁

    Thanks for any advice!

  • If you keep your .com blog but forward the domain name to it, you better visit the wordpress.COM forum. If you want to switch to a self-hosted blog using a wordpress.org installation, you have to make an auto forward on your .com and still need to go to that forum to find out how to do that.

    I have a related problem.

    I have a blog located at goodnaijagirl.wordpress.com

I bought goodnaijagirl.com and would like to move the contents of the wordpress.com blog to the new domain.

I exported the wordpress.com files as an XML document and when the files are imported through my wordpress.org installation, less than half of my entries are imported. I did notice that wordpress.org asks for the file to be imported in a WordPress eXtended RSS (WXR) format, while it seems that wordpress.com only provides an XML format.

I’d appreciate any help as to where to start troubleshooting.
