   I am doing sort of a hybrid new install/upgrade. I am in the process of moving a couple of WP sites to a new server. In the process, I'd like to move from 1.5 to 2.04.

   If I do a clean install of 2.04 at the new server and restore the database (it'll have a completely different name), I'm sure it'll run fine, but what do I need from the *old* server to make sure the blog on the new site looks the same? CSS file at least, but what else?

   Or should I copy the entire old installation from the old server to the new and then go through the upgrade routine (after configuring database info, of course)?

   The database structure has been changed between 1.5.x and 2.x, which means you cannot use a 1.5 DB with the 2.x files. - so I'd suggest to go with the second variant:
   move it over and upgrade AFTER that!
   (another option: upgrade first and move after that :)
