    Hi

I have a wordpress blog running over at http://www.jonrouston.co.uk/blog/ which I want to move to http://www.jonrouston.com/jonrouston.co.uk/wordpress/ and then point the DNS to the new site, so it effectively becomes jonrouston.co.uk

I have redesigned the main site, so I don't want to carry over any of the pages, but I do want to carry over the 'media' (basically pictures) as I want to delete the old hosting.

I have exported the old site and imported that into the new blog, which works, but even if I tick 'download and import file attachments' the posts still point images to the jonrouston.co.uk. Looking at 'wp-content/uploads/' in my ftp program indicates it hasn't uploaded anything.

Am I misunderstanding what the checkbox should do, and if so does anyone know of any easy way of moving all the images over, or is it a case of downloading, uploading and manually recoding each <img> tag (which obviously, I'm not keen to do!

    Thanks for any help

    Jon

    Hi Brad,

    How about here - http://www.jonrouston.com/jonrouston..co.uk/Wordpress/blog/ ?

The pages have been made from new so should be ok, but the blog posts images are still linking to the old site?

Sorry, should have been more specific

Thanks for looking, I will read the link
    Cheers
    Jon

    Hi Jon,

I think this post may have the data you're looking for:

Hi almightywa. Have you been able to make any progress on this issue?

    Kind of....

It seems I have been using a ridiculous amount of different ways of posting photos over the last few years, so the easy ones are done, where the images were linked I just altered the paths, fairly quick with that search and replace plugin you linked to (thanks!)

But where they're inserted using the media library I have some shortcodes that I guess I'm going to have to hunt down the URL's of the image and replace each one.

    All good fun
