Hey there guys and gals!
I've just taken the plunge and got my own VPS, and need to move my blog from bluehost, over to my server.
A really simple step by step guide would be awesome as I am not having much luck :(
What I have done: backed up blog, uploaded it all the new server, created a mew mysql database on the server, edited the wpconfig file with the new database details. From what I read, that is all I need to do, but it is not working :(
Any help would be great!
Many thanks!

Thanks guys - I have looked at this but still no joy.
Can someone clarify - I can copy my entire blog folder on the old server and move to the new one. Then make sure the wp-config.php file has right database info in it? I have created a new mysql database on the new server so I think that's right!
"Note: If you are changing to a new server but same domain, all you need to do is edit wp-config.php and upload everything as it is to your new server".
This is what I am looking at, is this right?
Is it by mistake that you never mention saving/backing up the database?
There is nothing in the files or folders ever.
All you content is in the database... and all the instructions start with BACK UP YOUR DATABASE!
So, go back and read it again.

moshu, thanks for your kind words ;-)
I have backed up the database! I am now wanting to put it on the new server, but am not confident with shell access etc.
