• I moved wordpress to a new server today and when I loaded it up, I get the blank white screen. I can access files on the server that aren’t php files or wordpress core files, but wordpress it’s self is smashed. The only thing that has changed is the database name, which I have updated in the wp-config file. I am using 3.5.1 and the site is a multisitesite. It doesn’t matter where I go or what I do, I can’t access any aspect of wordpress. Any one have any advice on this?

  • Did you follow the instructions in Moving_WordPress?

I did follow the instructions verbatim, but I am still getting the white page. I am not changing domain names, just the server. I migrated everything over…files and database. The database is an exact copy from the old server. I am still getting the white pages. I am assuming it is a database setting. I turned on debugging and I am not getting any fatal errors or anything that would stop execution. Are there any settings that need to be updated that I am unaware of? I wouldn’t imagine so if it didn’t say so in the instructions.

If the errors are happening very early on, they may not be recorded by WP’s debugger. Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

I actually just narrowed it down to the plugins. The developer before me was using mu-plugins, and it was one of them that is causing it to fail silently. I renamed the mu-plugins folder to something else and it loaded up just fine. Gotta remember to always check plugins! Thanks for your help!
