   I did a backup of wordpress and tried installing it on my local computer using MAMP (first time using MAMP), now I loaded the database and changed the site url and home url to local/nameoffolder on the database.

   Now when I go to visit the site I see the homepage but when I go to other pages of the site they return a Not Found 404, I looked at my database and under the post table it had the links to the post/pages using the old domain site instead of having local, will I have to manually go in and change to local for each one? I thought once I updated the site url and home url in the database it would have changes everything?

   Any help greatly appreciated thanks.

   I think you might be able to just run a search and replace on the database using a reliable text editor.

   Thanks for the help, actually found out it was a permalink issue. I had to set it back to default for the links to work again.
