I moved my site from website.com/blog to website.com following instructions found at http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
Everything on the public side seems to be fine. I can add new posts, and navigate around the site just fine. However - on my dashboard, the Appearance and Settings drop downs are missing.
Any clue what I missed?
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.
The plugins drop down is also missing.
So is my template selection dropdown.
What is there:
Posts
Media
Links
Pages
Comments
Profile
Tools
I have no problem doing this outside the dashboard, if someone can help me figure out how.
I am fairly savvy - just ignorant of WordPress. :-)
Have you updated the URL fields of your WordPress Database?
Can you check your current role status - Admin or Editor?
Actually, no I can't check it. I don't have a users tab, either.
I've made the changes to the database - all URLs now point correctly.

Resolved. It was a role status - i was logged into the wrong one. Duh. May I repeat:
just ignorant of WordPress. :-)
