moved site to root and image paths did not change (3 posts)

    I moved my site up one directory to the root, and all of the paths to the images that i added thru the wp-admin did not update. I had to manually delete them all and reupload them to the site. How can I avoid having to do this in the future. (The images that were coded into my site were fine. Just the ones uploaded thru the editor were problematic).

    The path (URI) for images in posts is stored in the database, like
    example.com/subdir/wp-content/uploads/etc/image.jpg

    Now, eliminating the "subdir" part - those links don't work, of course.

    In the future you can use the Search&Replace plugin:

    thanks for the info! when u say stored in the database, does that mean i use php myadmin to eliminate the "subdir" part?
