Hi,
I had a wordpress site hosted on my old web hosting company, however they've kept on giving me problems and downtime so I've decided to change hosting providers and moved the site over.
All of the plugins, themes have all moved across. The pages and posts with the original information hasn't moved. Have I done a school boy error somewhere?
Thanks,
Kris.
Did you actually bring your database over to your new host? Or start from scratch with a clean install?
If you actually moved your entire database then your posts should be brought over as well. If you went with a clean install you would need to export and import your posts.
Check out this codex article also:

If only I had seen that page before I done everything. Doh!
What I've done is copied everything off my old server to my hardrive, not changing any database urls ect.. Is there anything I can do to restore the old data now?
The new database will obviously be different, different name, username ect..
Thanks for your help,
Kris.
Is your old database still online? If you don't have either an XML export of your posts from WordPress or a copy of the database in some form (usually a .sql or .gz file), then you will need to get a copy of your database from your old hosting company. Hopefully they have a backup if your site is already offline.
