Moved root directory and now uploads get lost (6 posts)

I'm a novice wordpress user and I changed the root directory of my wordpress (out of necessity, as it was interfering with my new homepage) from / to /wordpress/
Now, whenever I uploads stuff, the uploader sends it to /wp-content/uploads/2010/ instead of /wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010
I'm guessing that I may have also caused other problems as well by doing this.

Is there any simple way of fixing this? I'm not quite sure what to do here.

Thank you for help in advance!

If you moved all your files and folders to root then this the right url /wp-content/uploads/2010/ for uploads as your wordpress folder is empty.

once you moved to root just reset your permalinks and you should be fine with other uploads.

The only other thing you might neeed to worry about is images you have embedded into posts and pages may now point to the original folder so you may have to update their paths...

Hmm, not sure how to reset your permalinks. I see this, click to view.

aphill70 - you're right about the old posts. I'm fine with just leaving the old /wp-content/ folder there with all the old post uploads inside so that I don't have to go back and reset them all manually.

The problem is that when I upload right now, it still uploads to the /wp-content/ folder, and not /wordpress/wp-content. I need to make it so that when it uploads, it uploads to the second.

I'm a novice, so forgive me for asking, but it seems like altering the permalinks is more about changing the forwarding and usability of the address bar, and that it is not related to uploading. Am I wrong?

You can have where you have all your files and folders in wordpress folder and still have your wordpress to open with your http://domianname.com

You will find how to to do it here

that way all uploads will be in wordpress/uploads.2010

Hmm, seems like it's heading in the right direction, but I've already done all of this.

Is there anyway to set an automatic file transfer in my ftp so that whenever anything uploads to

    http://www.bryanbeus.com/wp-content/uploads/ (etc.)

it will either copy or cut and paste the files into

Thank you again for your help, I really appreciate it.
