moved hosts, text widgets disappeared

I developed my site locally and have just moved it to a subdomain on my host to do final tweaks before going live. I thought this was going to be a simple project, but something has gone wrong!

I rely on a fair number of text widgets, all of which are not showing up on the new site. In the Widget admin page it tells me “You are using 8 widgets in the “Sidebar 1″ sidebar.” but it only displays four, none of which are the text widgets.

Additionally, when I try and make a new text widget, I can enter in the information, hit done, but when I try and hit save, the page just goes blank, and the widget does save.

Ideas?
