Moved blog URI - now some requests are 404'ing (5 posts)

I moved my WP "up" a level to handle requests at the web root by changing Blog address (URI): to just site.com from site.com/blog in Admin -> Options -> General. Works great.

Then I changed all the links on my site to go to site.com/ instead of site.com/blog

    Still works great.

But in my logs I'm seeing requests for /blog and others off that directory, which are 404'ing. Example:

    http://www.appleswitcher.com/blog/2006/12/05/useful-wordpress-plugins/

Question is, how to fix this in .htaccess? (sorry, I've tried tutorials, I just don't get it)

    Oddly, this seems to work:

In summary, the current rules are working. Except for requests for files in appleswitcher.com/blog, which trigger a 404. It's weird.

    That's why I don't know if
    a) it should work as is, and something else is messed up or
    b) I should add a rule or
    c) I should modify an existing rule

Any ideas, no matter how implausible? I'll take any leads at this point.

    thx!

Maybe you can help me. I attempted to change my blog page from 'mysite.com/blog' to 'mysite.com'. Now, I get an error page with a 'no wp-admin' message. Can you help me?
