[resolved] Move WordPress database to new domain (8 posts)

I'm hoping to move my blog to a new domain, which I should be able to handle just fine, minus the fact that lots of my blog posts contain images and links that reference the old domain. There are just too many to do manually.

Is there a way to do a mass hyperlink change in a mySQL database?

For example, a post would have a link such as:
    http://images.abc.com/large/picture.jpg

I would need this changed to:
    http://images.xyz.com/large/picture.jpg

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

This might help ya, there's a little program or whatever there, that you can edit massive amounts of stuff, at same time.

    1. For the moving itself it might be helpful:

    2. For the URI change - ask a MySQL guru to help you with a query that would replace the old one with the new one.
Wait! there is a find and replace plugin, I just have to find it :)

Well, thanks for the near immediate responses. I'll hopefully be giving it a shot over the weekend.

FWIW, I just migrated a WP site from a subdomain to its own domain using the method posted in the codex, above---worked like a charm!

Thanks to whoever documented the steps for this. Now that I've moved this small site successfully, I feel more confident about moving my other WP sites.
