Move User Login from Admin to Theme (5 posts)

    This is a feature request.

I think the user login (and related code) should be moved from the Admin section (ws-admin.css, etc.) in to the Theme section. This would allow the general theme to control the look and feel of the registration, lost password, and other common user functions. I am working in WP 1.5 and these user functions are snarled up in the Admin section. I want the user to see the login as part of the main site design, not the Admin design.

My two cents... I am new at this, so feedback is appreciated.

You already posted a similar question here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/50579
Since most of the WP bloggers are the only users of their blogs this is not a priority.

True, but it doesn't touch the real issue brought up here. Because we can now require registration before posting comments, the argument that, "Since most of the WP bloggers are the only users of their blogs this is not a priority" loses it's power. This goes beyond the registration page to the dashboard, and other admin routines that the user can see.

The entire admin section should be part of the theme as well; I admit changing the admin pages are trivial with a little knowledge of PHP (although I wouldn't mind seeing more comments in the code; "self-documenting code" isn't), core files shouldn't need to be altered to make a change as simple as, "level 0 users should not have access to the dashboard," or, "my reg page should look like the rest of my site."
