I am working at my first website. The result is nice, but the access is only possible via http://www.domainname.com/wordpress cause I installed WordPress wrongly in that directory. I needed to install directly under the root. My question now is 1. do I uninstall/install everything again and start from scratch or 2. can I move this? or 3. do I have to uninstall/install again and can I save my work somewhere and afterwards move the files to the right place?
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks in advance

I have the same issue - i'm ready to move the site across to its root - I did try and move all the files over via ftp - the home page worked but the rest of the pages did not show all showing errors .

I want to move this site http://www.homesinnottingham.co.uk to an old site folder on the server and show the new site http://www.homesinnottingham.co.uk/wordpress but point in thru the main domain.

Any ideas how i can do this with out having to re write the whole site and modify links .

    Thanks .
