When I am selecting text with my mouse, and the mouse pointer accidentally moves over the admin sidebar, the screen for that item opens. Sometimes I do get a warning, but I don't like this behaviour. Is this a WordPress bug or is it browser related?

It's browser/mouse/hardware related.
Apparently. Firefox to the rescue.
