    Kind day!
Has read the description the_content (), in post I register <- more-> – result zero! That is deduces all. The citation, but it not rescues an exit:(
    wordpress 2.7

    blog: http://www.sportactions.ru/

    <p><span id=”more-391″></span></p>
    in page code….

I’m having the same problem. The <!–more–> tag seemed to do nothing at all. I have older posts that used to work in older versions of WordPress, but not now. The only effect the tag seems to have is adding a span into the HTML:

    <p><span id=”more-1917″></span></p>

and that’s it. The entire entry still appears. I tried using the default theme that comes with 2.7 with no change in behaviour.

Has anyone had any luck in fixing this?

Make sure that the <!–more–> tag is on a line by itself – preferably with a completely blank line before and after it.

Thanks esmi, but that’s always the way I use the ‘more’ tag. It still doesn’t work, even in entries that *did* work before.

Have you changed themes recently? Or installed/upgraded any plugins?

Having same problem, all was fine in 2.7

Me too, all I know is 2.8 and it doesn’t work!

I moved from wordpress.com free hosting to a paid version, it has been a lot of work and my home page is a mess!!

Has anyone had any luck addressing this? I am currently wrestling with this myself.

I have managed to resolve this for myself.

I was tooling around, and fooled around with a few settings. Seems that when the newest WP version needs to be set to full text render to recognize the more tags as we are used to.

WP Dashboard > settings > reading > For each article in feed show > and switch the radio button to “full text”.

    That fixed it for me.

    Hope that helps someone else!
    Cheers!

    hello!

no, my problem still can’t be solved. i’ve always set the feed show button as “full text”.

i’ve tried this <!–more–> tag with several themes. some works fine n some doesn’t. wonder if it the problem originated from the theme. but i’ve asked the theme author about this problem n it doesn’t appear to me that he can help me with this.

pls see my blog. scroll down to the very first post, i just want the 1st picture and the 2 lines beneath it to be shown.
