More Tag causing page not to validate due to <\p> tag (4 posts)

When I put the more tag in my post it is closing off that list item with a closing </p> tag instead of a closing </li> tag. If I look at the HTML of the post it shows the proper </li> tag, but once the page renders, it has a </p> tag there and causes the page not to validate with W3C. Any thoughts?

    Could you elaborate more?

Are you putting the more tag in the middle of a list??

Don't put the more tag inside a list item. The more tag is where the post gets cut into two bits, if you put inside a list item, then yes, you won't validate properly.

I think I see what you mean, so if I have a list that is too long to show on my main page and I want to use the more tag, I need to make two distinct <ul> instead of one long one separated by the more tag.
