OK, I know this has been beaten to death here. But I've spent the last few hours searching the forum and going through the "Using Permalinks" page to no avail. Here's my issue:

I'm using a custom pattern for the permalink: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%post_id% - links to posts and monthly archives work fine and good. Links to categories however are not working. An error is not produced, the URL is http://www.keithstric.com/modules/wordpress/category/Domino. This results in the same 2 posts being displayed for every category and at the top it says "Archive for the '' Category".

If I turn off the custom permalinks and use the "Default" permalinks the categories work fine along with the post links and monthly archives. Also, I'm hosting my own site so I have access to change anything in the DB, webserver config or anything else.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

For grins, if you change themes, do the categories work then?

Options -> Permalinks, what do you have specified in the "Category Base" field?

    Thanks for the reply HandySolo...

It is blank, I've tried the following:
    /index.php/category
/index.php/category/%categoryname% (or whatever the tag is for that)
    /archives/category/%categoryname%

    all to no avail.
