Anyone know of any good alternatives to this plugin? I would hope to find one that makes use of the new 2.9 function register_post_type so as to be forward compatible with WP 3.0.

    Just found this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/

Which is getting closer... if only it could provide multiple types of input fields for custom taxonomies.

I'm going to try using the Verve Meta Boxes with the Custom Post Type UI to see if together they will provide the desired functionality.

Hi Mindshare, we are planning to support custom post types in Verve Meta Boxes when WordPress 3.0 is released. We will likely update the current plugin once WordPress 3.0 goes into beta. It is exciting to see the Custom Post Types plugin you linked to above.

    Hi Komra -
I can't wait for support for custom post types in Verve Meta Boxes! It will be a killer combination.

Just to let you know. We will be releasing a 3.0 ready version of More Fields in time for the release.

We will also add additional plugins for post types (More Types) and taxonomies.

Custom Field Template is also worth looking into. According to the changelog, it supports custom post types. (I'm still testing this feature myself)

It's a pretty new plugin, so beta testers are very welcome :)

More Fields plugin is good, but lack in feature comparing "Magic Fields" plugin.
But I like way this plugin store setup data because "magic fields" create many custom tables which I don't like.
