    hi,
i've searched through the forums but can't find an answer to this one - sorry if it's already been asked.

i've just set up wordpress1.5 and now when I add additional categories they simply don't show up.

have checkd to make sure they're in the [mysql] db, even run the list_cats select string on the db itself and it's returned all of them. have changed themes and still doesn't work.

can anyone send me any luck?

Have you made any posts into those categories ?
Try a test post and include all it into ALL categories and see what shows up.

Be sure you have the right usage, and with these tags you can also force empty categories to show up:

I think it's as simple as Podz says, you can uses tags to display all categories whether or not they have content, but by default the categories do not display until at least one post has been entered into the category.

Give that a try before you play with tags and templates, and then if you want the categories to display beyond the default setting with or without posts, follow the links Lorelle has provided
