Modifying User Roles (2 posts)

I am looking to create a user class that can edit any post/page within the blog, but can never officially publish an article. The article will be published only when an administrator approves the message.

I am having trouble supporting 'Submit for Review' functionality while at the same time allowing the user to edit posts/pages written by other users and posts/pages that were previously published. The editing rules seem entangled in the publishing rules for some reason.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem. One thing I have learned is that you MUST use the "Contributor" role if you want to have the "submit for review" button. Also, it seems you cannot submit Pages for review -- only posts. Even when I give Contributors the ability to edit Pages, the Submit for Review button is only on the edit posts area.

I hope that helps, and I'd be happy to share whatever else I've learned if it applies to what you're trying to do.
