• I’m not sure how to modify the sidebar. I want to add my feedburner count and some ads. Usually I just edit sidebar.php and I’m fine, but I think this theme can’t do that because it’s widget ready or something, I’m not sure to be honest.

I’m using the fashionstyle theme, http://www.wurped.com/blog

    Can anyone help please? Thanks.

  • Then use the widgets. If the widgets are active (and since 2.2 they are built-in, so they always are active) – they override whatever you have in the sidebar.php file’s code.
Put everything you want to appear in widgets: text, phpexec etc.

Thank you. I didn’t know what the “text” widget was for.

It seems that when using the widgets, I can add anything I want except things like divider bars or header bars. I can add them in the sidebar that contains the default content (which I simply edited the content) But I can’t get an image to show up, is there a place I could find code for adding an image to the l_sidebar.php or should I try and contact the ambient_glow designer?
    Thanks

As Moshu explained you can’t add code to the sidebar AND use widgets – the widgets will override everything. If you’re using widgets add the image tag to the widget.
