Modifying archive page by category

I am starting a food blog and I have been trying to get my recipe archive to look something like this site: http://www.eatgood4life.com/recipes/

My site. http://Www.thebachelorchef.net archive page looks very basic.

Is there a way to emulate my archive page like the one above? Any help would be appreciated.
