    Dear fellow wp'ers,

    Currently we are doing some tests with WordPress as a CMS system for native mobile apps. (Yes it sounds insane but works like a charm!). As a interaction designer I'm aware about the friendly interface of WordPress but like to mod it to make it easier for our customers. I've been editing a few things but worry about the last part: Modding the media uploader.

    Is there any way to remove some meta data (like alternate text and caption)? Is anyone familiar with modding the media uploader? I've been working with the function.php file a lot so I know the basic stuff..

    This worked for me. I got this from here. They have more info on other fields you might want to remove or add.

    add_filter('attachment_fields_to_edit', 'remove_media_upload_fields', 10000, 2);
    function remove_media_upload_fields( $form_fields, $post ) {

        // remove unnecessary fields
        unset( $form_fields['image_alt'] );
        unset( $form_fields['post_excerpt'] );

        return $form_fields;
    }

    @toocoolone Cheers! Just what I was looking for! I also found it in the admin / include section but it's not handy when updating WP.
