[resolved] Modify events times in backend (7 posts)

I have a user that has setup recurring events. Now they need to change the start and end times for the events between June and October to begin 3 hours later. I updated the wp_em_events table with the following SQL:

    update wp_em_events set event_start_time = addtime(event_start_time,'03:00:00'), event_end_time = addtime(event_end_time,'03:00:00') WHERE event_owner = 66 and month(event_start_date) between 6 and 10 and (event_name like '%legend%' or event_name like 'vicky%')

I see that the times are updated in the database but they still show the old times in the frontend. Is there another table I can't see somewhere or is this data cached somewhere?

It sounds like you've only edited the recurring sequence of events, rather than the individual events that have been created from the recurring sequence.

If you look in the database, you'll probably see those dates in the wp_em_events table.

Hi caimin_nwl, I'm changing the event_start_time and event_end_time columns in the wp_em_events table. I see in the database that they have the correct values but they are still showing the old values in the frontend even after I refresh. If I change them using the edit page in the frontend they change correctly. Is there another table or some meta data or something somewhere that I'm missing? There are dozens of events that are affected and I really need to be able to change all of them en masse rather than 1 at a time.

try WP Settings > General > Date Format/Time Format

Hi angelo, thanks for the suggestion but I'm not trying to change the format. I'm trying to change the actual time value. I have a user that has setup recurring events for multiple venues. Now they need to change the start and end times for the events between June and October to begin 3 hours later. As I stated earlier I updated the event_start_time and event_end_time in the wp_em_events table but the changes don't display on the page, but do in the database. Am I missing a table or view or something here?

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant about the entries in the database. You'll need to edit the row for each event in the sequence. It sounds like you're only editing the "master" event.

Events in a recurring sequence have an event_slug in this format:
recurring-event-2014-05-11. They also have the recurrence column set to 0, while the "master" event has that column set to 1.
