At the moment my comments box overlaps the authors name and date the comment was made. What do I do to adjust this so there is mroe space between the bottom of the box and the authors name and date.

Also, how do I remove the option to add an avatar?

    Thanks

  • To remove the option to show avatars, go to wp-admin -> settings -> Discussion -> Avatars -> Avatar display -> select “don’t show avatars”.

And regarding your comment box problem, give us the URL of the page where the problem is noticed.

Thanks – I dont have it up in a public area – I have just been testing it out. The blog is based on a theme by Devart called Defusion. The comments go in a large grey box with a quote makrs in it.

Underneath the authors name is shown and the date – but in mine it overlaps so this is partially hidden.

Thanks for your help on Avatars I will go and switch that off. That migt sort it out because it will make the ocmments box smaller I would think.

Well that has got rid of Avatar – but problem is still there. Any other ideas.

The authors name needs to appear with in the box – as it is in white. The date etc needs to appear underneath it. At the moment Authors name is half on it and half hidden – well it would be – because it is white on white, and the date is half on top of the grey box and half on the background.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

this is where my old site was – the ocmments box works there – I must have done something to make it work – but I can’t remember what.

Perhpas you can suggest what it was?

    Thanks

The theme has css issues. I could see that the theme author has mentioned it in his site.

You may try upgrading the theme, or try to add a css declaration padding-bottom and give a value of 15px or any higher value to “.commentlist li” element in the theme’s css file.

The second link shows the comment meta outside the list item which is wrong.

Can you explain what you say in a little more depth – ie tell me exactly what I should try and where please. I don’t want to use the newer version I will have to change too many other things hat I have already altered.

    Thanks
