Modify another's plugin (2 posts)

Maybe I am being paranoid, but I just want to be sure. I have modified two plugins that others have made (wp-quotes and countdown). I was hoping to get the plugin's authors approval/permission not only on modifying their plugins but also to see if they wanted to put my changes in their plugin. I am also concerned about the quotations content and have contacted some of the other quotes plugin authors about using their content in my modified plugin. I have only gotten one response from the deepthoughts plugin author.

With the creative common license, do I need to be concerned or just make a post here about the modified versions of the plugins and where to get them?

    Thank you,
    new to writing plugins.

"creative commons license" doesn't mean anything by itself -- it's a class of potential licenses. depending on the terms of the particular CC license chosen (if any) by the authors, that dictates what you can do with the code.
