   I can't figure out how to limit the amount of my post that shows on the index page. I tried the Limited-Post plugin and it didn't work.

   I want to show the first 500 characters with a link to the remainder of the post.

   My site is http://www.imjustsayingblog.com I'm using version 2.6.3

   Might look at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-excerpt/

   Also might look at Customizing_the_Read_More is you want to use the more tag.
