[resolved] Moderator - Sending a file to a Forum Member (5 posts)

I'm providing informal support to the Customizr forum. I have an answer that requires me to replace a .php file in the core install for one particular Member.

I'll point out the need to backup the original, and the new code includes comments for future updates etc etc. Will also point out Child Themes.

Is there a recognised way for Moderators to provide a link to a file, rather than including the code in the post?

Are there any Moderator Rules I can read?

I'm not sure what the question is - you can post code to a pastebin if it's more than 10 or so lines of code:

When you say "core install" do you mean the theme? Definitely ONLY do that if the user has set up a child theme. We don't recommend ever modifying WP Core files.

Also, the tag for getting a moderator to see this is "modlook" - I just happened across this one.

pastebin was what I needed, thanks.

Also just read about the modlook tag in the links above.

I did mean core file in the Theme and understand your comment about Child themes which I was including in my response.
